Flo-Rida's Choreographer Hosts An Open Class and Audition for January Showcase

Right: Trisia Brown
It was a chilly night in New York City last week on Wednesday, but Trisia Brown brought the Miami heat to the Equinox Fitness Center on Wall Street. From 8pm - 10pm, Brown had an open class where she taught a full dance routine to Fergie's song,"L.A. Love (Lala)."

Dancers included the Gotham City Cheerleaders for the NY Giants football team, Ana DeVillegas, (founder of the Gotham City Cheerleaders), and a few dancers from the Pace University Dance Team.

Brown is both a choreographer and performer for Flo-Rida but that's not the only thing that makes her resume exceptional. She was a former Miami Dolphins NFL Cheerleader from 2005-2009.  She is a co-owner/dance instructor at "The Studio," which is located in Davie, Florida where she actively taught dancers from 2007-2011. "The Studio" has competed on a national level, receiving titles in jazz, hip-hop, and lyrical. She's now the director/choreographer of Lash-On Production Company where she teaches dance lessons and choreography.

Shockingly, her personality is what made her presence in New York City all the more enjoyable. She was willing to go over the choreography if anyone was lost and continuously encouraged questions.

"I don't want anyone lost," Brown said. "Any more questions before we move on to the next part?"

By the end of the class, she said that the main thing she wanted dancers to take away from the night was to feel sexy and most importantly, to have fun.

"Even if you don't remember all of the steps, have fun with this dance," Brown said.

Brown is very accomplished, yet she remains humble. When thanked for teaching the class, she in turn thanked everyone for coming out. She's extremely approachable and doesn't even mind taking a quick "selfie." If you're ever in Miami FL, be sure to visit "The Studio," and check out the website at: www.thedancestudio.com

For those who are unable to go to a dance studio, start right at home. Dancing is a great way to workout while having fun at the same time.
